About Alton Cheung

Alton Cheung is a city worker for the City of Richmond. He is a union rep at CUPE 718 and an organizer. Alton has led the organizing drives at South Arm and Thompson Community Centres, and the Richmond Oval, and helped UBC's graduate research assistants to form a union.

Alton is running for council to further all workers' rights and interest in the city, to build a tight and thriving community, and to further the economic interests of Richmond citizens in an equitable manner.

  • You can make a campaign contribution if you are:

    • a resident of B.C., and

    • a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.

    Organizations cannot make campaign contributions or reimburse individuals for making campaign contributions.

  • Unfortunately donations to municipal parties and candidates are not subject to tax receipts.

  • Donations to RCA help us reach more voters in our city. Your contribution helps us to pay for campaign staff, materials like signs and leaflets, and advertising.

  • The maximum combined amount an individual can donate to an electoral organization or any candidates endorsed by that organization in 2026 is $1,429.70

  • Paypal is the online payment processor that RCA uses. However, you do not need a PayPal account to contribute.

    When asked to sign in, you can select “Pay with a credit or Visa Debit card” instead. This will allow you to contribute without creating a PayPal account.
